Terroir is the character of a place passed into the wine: relief, soil, water and climate. The Savalan Valley's is truly unique.
Terroir
The valley lies at about 400 metres above sea level, between two rivers, and on one side is sheltered by the ridges of the Greater Caucasus from dry winds. This gives an ideal balance of sun, moisture and warmth.
For centuries the Turyanchay river left here layers of sand, fine gravel and clay, which mingled with ancient limestone rocks. So arose a variety of soils — the basis of complex wines.

Terroir
The Gabala district is one of the most scenic in Azerbaijan: green foothills, forests, rivers and clear mountain air. This nature surrounds the vineyards and shapes their character.
The turn of the seasons — from the vine's flowering in spring to the harvest in autumn — sets the rhythm of the whole winery's life.
